Voids, refunds, large discounts, price changes, stock losses, no-sale drawer opens, repeated wrong PINs and receipt reprints.
Tamper detection
Entries are chained together, so changing or deleting an old one is detected and reported. Entries cannot be edited in the app.
One shop, several tills
Web till
Turn on sharing and any phone, tablet or computer on the shop Wi-Fi can sell from a browser. Each person signs in with their own PIN.
Join a business
Install Counterbook on a second device and pair it with a code. Devices catch up whenever they reconnect, and offline changes are merged.
Syncing works on one network. There is no cloud service in between.
Your data stays yours
Counterbook keeps everything on your device. Elevven11 holds no copy of your data or keys.
Encrypted on the device
The business database is encrypted with SQLCipher (AES-256). The key sits in Windows Credential Manager or the Android Keystore.
PINs never stored
Only a salted Argon2id hash is kept. Repeated wrong PINs lock the person out for longer each time.
Encrypted backups
A .cbbak file holds everything, including staff logins. Back up on a schedule, to a
USB drive or your own Google Drive.
Permissions enforced
Every action is checked in the data layer, so a role without a permission is refused even if a screen were reached.
Safe exports
Cells that start with =, +, - or @ are
neutralised, so a spreadsheet cannot run them as formulas.
No internet of its own
The app makes no connections except to Google Drive, and only if you connect it.
No reset link
If the device and the recovery phrase are both lost and there is no password-protected backup, the data cannot be recovered by anyone. Keep the phrase on paper, away from the device, and test a restore once a month.

Starter products add typical categories, items and expense headings. Prices are rough shelf prices to edit.

Common questions
Do I need an account or internet?
No. Counterbook works fully offline. The internet is only used if you connect Google Drive for backups.
Is it really free?
Yes. It shows one small, labelled promotion at the foot of the More screen, never on the till, and a setting turns it off.
Which devices does it run on?
Windows and Android as apps, and any phone, tablet or computer on your shop Wi-Fi through the web till.
Why does the profit look too high?
Cost price is probably zero. Starter products start at zero cost, so enter the cost when you receive stock.
What if my laptop is stolen?
Install Counterbook on a new device and restore your latest backup with the recovery phrase or backup password. Staff logins come back with it.
Is there cloud sync over the internet?
Not yet. For different places, move data with a backup file or Google Drive.
